Biblioteka is designed as an offline-first personal library and PDF reader. This policy explains what information the Android app processes.
Information stored on your device
Your catalog entries, member and loan records, locations, cover photos, imported PDFs, reading progress, and selected audio remain in app-private storage or in files you explicitly select. We do not receive this content through the app’s core offline features.
Optional AI descriptions
If you request an automatic book description, the app sends the book metadata you entered—such as title, author, publisher, year, genre, page count, and ISBN—to our description endpoint and its AI service provider, DeepSeek. Local record IDs, PDFs, cover photos, member data, and loan data are not sent. Do not use this feature if you do not want that metadata processed online.
Permissions
Camera and photo access are used only when you choose a cover image. Document and audio access are used only for files you select through Android’s system picker. Notification-policy access is optional and opens Android settings so you can enable Do Not Disturb while reading. Internet access supports optional descriptions.
Backups
Exports are created only when you request them and are saved to a location you choose. You control the exported ZIP and are responsible for storing it securely.
Analytics, advertising, and sale
Biblioteka does not include advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information. The current app does not use third-party analytics.
Retention and deletion
Delete records or imported files in the app, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app to remove locally held information. Files you exported remain wherever you saved them.
Children
Biblioteka is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@chikanski.in.rs.
